Ambush On The Highway. Many Vehicles At Once

Some sad and alarming news was relayed to me by law enforcement about a major highway ambush in Ogun State along the road linking Ijebu Ode to Ibadan which evidently went down around 6 pm on May 13th, 2024.Reports from the scene of the carnage indicate that several gunmen positioned themselves along a stretch of that notoriously dangerous highway, and raked passing vehicles with automatic rifle fusillades that blew asunder the cranium of a bus driver whose vehicle then lost control and blocked both lanes of that desolate highway, trapping a further FIVE vehicles whose occupants were subjected to additional withering gunfire that left several passengers bleeding to death when the smoke cleared, even as those who survived the shooting and crash unscathed were then herded at gunpoint into the bush by the gang of bloodthirsty and sadistic kidnappers. One needn't be a criminologist to deduce that a kidnapping epidemic is spreading like wildfire in the area of Ogun State where the Lagos/Ibadan and Shagamu to Benin expressways intersect, with the brutality and frequency of attacks intensifying over the past few weeks. The highways witnessing this resurgent kidnap spate are key strategic transport and commercial corridors that convey goods and passengers NATIONWIDE. In this light, the state or federal authorities should urgently consider a massive reinforcement of the military presence already deployed along the Lagos to Ibadan expressways recently, so that some detachments of battle-ready troops can be posted along ALL major roads and highways within a 30-mile radius circle of the Benin/Ibadan Expressway interchange.
