Emefiele Faces More Trouble As EFCC Alleges He Printed N684.5m Naira Notes With

The EFCC has filed new charges against the former CBN Chairman, Godwin Emefiele, accusing him of printing N684.5 million in naira notes with N18.9 billion. The charges include disobeying the law in implementing the naira swap policy and unlawfully approving the withdrawal of N124.8 billion from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. Emefiele faces a four-count charge including illegal printing of money and abuse of office. This comes after previous charges of procurement fraud and abuse of office related to a contract for 43 vehicles worth N1.2 billion. Recently, he was also arraigned for an alleged $4.5 billion and N2.8 billion fraud alongside Henry Omoile.
