Court Jails 20 Internet Fraudsters In Benin City (photos)

The Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC has secured the conviction and sentencing of 20 internet fraudsters in Benin City. The defendants pleaded guilty to charges related to obtaining money by false pretenses and possessing fraudulent documents. They were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment ranging from two to three years or fines of N100,000 each. Additionally, they were ordered to forfeit their electronic devices, bank account balances, and vehicles acquired through illegal means to the Nigerian government. The arrests followed intelligence on their involvement in online fraud.
