Ijele Bail Application: Deji Adeyanju Confronts Police Prosecutor In Court Over Alleged Secret Meeting With MagistrateThe case which was slated for the hearing of the ball application of the defendant which was stalled last week following the inability of the court to sit at the last adjourned date. There was a mild drama at the Wuse Zone 6 Magistrate Court Abuja, as a human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju on Wednesday threatened to raise a petition against the police lawyer, B.N Ezala who is the prosecutor in the case involving a social media influencer and blogger, Ofoegbu Chukwuma, otherwise known as Ijele for having a secret meeting with the presiding magistrate, Emmanuel A. Iyanna.The case which was slated for the hearing of the ball application of the defendant which was stalled last week following the inability of the court to sit at the last adjourned date.Trouble started when the prosecutor, B.N Ezala arrived at the court premises headed to the Magistrate office to have a secret meeting with him while the lawyers to the defendant were seated in the courtroom.The situation was objected to by Adeyanju who confronted Ezala over what he described as unethical conduct .The visible angry human rights lawyer upon sighting Ezala coming out of the Magistrate challenged the police prosecutor accusing her of unethical conduct just as he threatened to file a petition against her before the appropriate authorities.He expressed displeasure over the action saying that it was not proper for the prosecution to engage in any secret meeting with the trial judge before the commencement of the proceedings.Deji while confronting the prosecutor asked if she was a lawyer and she admitted that she was a lawyer.“The matter is already before court and since you you have admitted you a lawyer. and you went to see the ‘judge’, no problem, come and announce appearance and I will petition you for your conduct," Deji fumed.Deji was in the court as one of the legal team of the counsel to Ijele, Marvins Omorogbe, to argue the bail application of Ijele who was arrested and detained since March 20th 2024 for alleged case of criminal intimidation, threat to life, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying against Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach.https://saharareporters.com/2024/04/03/ijele-bail-application-deji-adeyanju-confronts-police-prosecutor-court-over-alleged#google_vignette
