Kano Emirate: Why Sanusi Lamido Should NOT Return As Emir

Governor Yusuf made terrible mistakes returning Sanusi.Ganduje only made corrections to illegality but people saw it as politics.According to Nigerian Constitution it is at least one traditional council per local government.It is illegal for an Emire or Oba to rule over more that one local government. In Kano before Ganduje came in, Emir of Kano was ruling over six local governments. Aside from Constitutional matters, other ethnic groups are eyeing the stool and are agitating for their own traditional ruler. For instance, Sanusi is a Fulani, other local governments dominated by the Hausas want Hausas Emir. Among the five Emirs entroned by Ganduje, there were Hausas and that balanced the equation.Other cities where there are abnormal traditional rulers ruling over more than one local governments are Ibadan, Ilorin and Benin.Governor Muhammad lawal of Kwara state was trying to correct that in Ilorin but it was reversed by Bukola saraki.Governor Ajimobi also made corrections in Ibadan by making the local traditional district heads obas Governor obaseki is also trying to do same in Benin but people don't understand. They thought it is a political move.
